Jerry with Jim Murphy, Executive Director of HHH
As a single, working mother of three, Beverly Gagnon has fought long and hard to become a homeowner. She dreamed of providing her children a permanent, affordable place to live. In 2012 she was granted a land lease from the Department of Hawaiian Homelands and immediately contacted Honolulu Habitat for Humanity (HHH) to apply. Once her application was approved by the HHH board, Bev immediately signed up to perform her preliminary 50 hours of sweat equity. The groundbreaking took place in June and the team at Discount Windows and Doors had the opportunity to meet Beverly and her parents while participating in a work day in October. We happily anticipate the upcoming dedication ceremony and are honored to be part of the this incredible partnership with HHH.
Leve Watson came to Habitat and applied for a home to be built in Kaneohe. Leve, the Watson Ohana and the DWD are ready to build!
Leve Watson is the kind of guy you just want to sit and talk story with all day long. Because you know the stories he has to tell are entertaining and fun. And you can’t help but get caught up in his infectious good nature. Leve came to Habitat and applied for a home to be built next to lots he owns with his son and nephew. The Kaneohe is about to meet the Watson ‘ohana who are dedicated and ready to build Leve’s home. But Leve will be right out there working beside them. He remains very active and was until recently a dive coach at Kapolei High School. Leve’s enthusiasm and good nature shown through as he came to our ReStore for his sweat equity. In no time, he was part of the Habitat ‘ohana and we can’t wait to get out to the build site with him.
